Preventing insider trading and strengthening the corporate social responsibility, TWSE holding seminars for directors and supervisors

In order to allow directors and supervisors of listed companies to have profound understanding and knowledge toward regulations and practice of insider trading and to promote the security and equity of securities transaction market, the Taiwan Stock Exchange (hereinafter referred to as the TWSE) will hold 5 seminars with the title of “2016 Corporate Governance Forum – Insider Trading and Corporate Social Responsibility” in Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung. The first seminar will be held at the Taipei International Convention Center on January 26.
The TWSE indicated that effectively preventing insider trading has been one of the key tasks for competent authority to promote the efficiency and equity of securities market. The latest 2015 principles of corporate governance by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) also lists the efficiency of preventing insider trading as an important indicator of whether the securities market has fine corporate governance quality. It is also the concrete conduct of treating shareholders equally. Therefore, the seminar will not only respond to new OECD principles and continue to promote corporate governance, but also assist directors and supervisors of listed companies to realize the core value of insider trading prevention from the perspective of fine corporate governance in order to implement the idea of information equity and corporate social responsibility.
This seminar will invite the former president of Judicial Yuan professor Lai, In-Jaw and professor Chang, Hsin-Ti from National Taipei University Department of Law to give lectures on the topic of “Discussing Insider Trading from the Perspective of Corporate Social Responsibility” and “Introduction of Laws and Regulations Concerning Insider Trading and Prevention Practice” respectively, hoping to continue to strengthen and promote the transaction security of the overall capital market.
