Urging companies to implement better corporate governance and compile Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reports are the primary goals of the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) in 2015. To accelerate its pace in adopting international standards, the TWSE convenes the first conference for internal audit supervisors with the theme on “CSR Reports” on March 25, 2015. The TWSE invites internal audit supervisors from sixty-four companies traded on the TWSE to the event. These companies are in the following industries: Finance and insurance, computer and peripherals, and electronic components.

CSR is not only committing the company’s resources to grow revenue and be accountable to shareholders. It should be incorporated with the core competence of a corporation and make substantive contributions to the society and the environment. For this conference, the TWSE invites professionals from KPMG Sustainability Consulting Co., Ltd., to give a lecture on “Surpassing the Obstacles in Compiling CSR Reports.” This lecture discusses the major points in compiling the CSR reports and the driving force that affects the sustainable development of corporations. The TWSE also invites companies that are traded on the TWSE to share their experience and discuss the risks of frauds and their countermeasures to ensure the security of the company’s assets.

The TWSE states that a CSR report is only one of the methods in honoring the CSR. The important issue is that the corporations perform self-inspections and implement its regulations. A company should internalize such regulations as the corporate culture and ensure that the corporation pays attention to the interests of other stakeholders and achieves the goals of sustainable operation.
