The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and Taipei Exchange (TPEx) will hold three sessions of the “Practical Seminar for Convening Investor Conferences” across the northern, central, and southern regions of Taiwan starting May 25th. TWSE and TPEx have invited representatives from TWSE and TPEx listed companies, as well as the public relations expert to give speeches and share their experiences in hope to assist TWSE and TPEx listed companies in properly convening investor conferences. Positive responses were received from the TWSE and TPEx listed companies.
 
TWSE states that investor conferences serve as an important communication channel for companies and stakeholders. It also helps increase the transparency and corporate governance performance of enterprises, thereby promoting long-term sustainable development of enterprises. Early this year (2015), TWSE announced that domestic companies listed on TWSE are compelled to hold or participate in investor conferences at least once every three years (every year for primarylisting companies). The Corporate Governance Evaluation has also included the “convening investor conferences” in its list of indicators. According to statistics of the Taiwan Stock Exchange, 257 domestic listed companies convened investor conferences last year (2014), accounting for 32% of the total number of domestic listed companies. Through regulations and propagation, the TWSE sets out to increase the ratio of convening investor conferences.
 
 
In addition to the planned delivery of relevant provisions that apply to investor conferences by the Taiwan Stock Exchange representatives, TWSE and TPEx listed companies experienced in investor conference convening were invited to attend the seminar to share their experience. Additionally, arrangements were made for the public relations expert to conduct lectures in order for seminar participants to quickly absorb tips for convening good investor conferences. Furthermore, this event will strengthen companies’ emphasis for information disclosure related issues, thus protecting shareholders’ rights and perfect capital market development.
