Publish time:2015-07-27

The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and Taipei Exchange (TPEx) will be jointly hosting the “Seminar on Preparation and Assurance of CSR Reports in the Food Industry” on July 30, 2015. Relevant personnel as well as accountants that provide assurance services are invited.

TWSE states that the “Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation Rules Governing the Preparation and Filing of Corporate Social Responsibility Reports by TWSE Listed Companies” was released on November 26, 2014. The measures require designated companies to prepare corporate social responsibility (CSR) reports to serve as a communication channel with stakeholders. Among their number are 29 TWSE-listed companies and 9 TPEx-listed companies that are part of the food industry or companies with annual food and beverage revenue accounting for more than 50 percent of total revenue. Those companies should obtain the written opinions of accountants in accordance with the Assurance Standard No.1 “Assurance Engagement of Examinations or Audits of Non-historical Financial Information” released by the Accounting Research and Development Foundation. The announcement was released on June 9, 2015 and will be implemented starting on January 1, 2016. The Standard may be applied in advance.

This seminar is tailored to the food industry. To enhance the quality of CSR reports in the food industry,
Tony Mo, Deputy Secretary General of Business Council for Sustainable Development of Taiwan, and Atlan Hsu, Parter of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), were invited to introduce key points of preparing CSR reports in the food industry and comprehensively explain the content of the Assurance Standards, respectively.
