Therefore, the TWSE has been working with TWSE-listed companies to foster international standards. The TWSE actively promotes and leads companies to implement corporate governance and corporate social responsibility (CSR), urging companies to pursue sustainable development. Moreover, the TWSE has held many overseas “Investment Forums”, designed to highlight the value of companies in Taiwan, Furthermore, the TWSE strongly encourages TWSE-listed companies to focus on Investor Relations (IR) to demonstrate business value. Simply put, the role of IR is to engage shareholders and be a conduit for corporate information and value.

President Lin stated that the TWSE launched the “WebPro3.0 Audiovisual Communications Network” audiovisual services at the end of last year in the “Online Communication & IR” panel keynote speech. This established the exclusive audiovisual platform of the securities industry. The platform is not only providing TWSE promotional events, but also live broadcasts of press conferences of material information of TWSE-listed companies, investor conferences, and listing ceremonies. Consolidated reporting is also on the agenda as a valuable future goal.

On the issue of capital market liquidity, Lori Liu, Vice President of the Trading Department at TWSE, expressed that retail investors used to make up 90% of Taiwan’s market. However, the percentage has fallen to 60% in the last two years. She pointed out that there were less individual investors, which influence market liquidity. The TWSE welcomes both individual and institutional investors and is fully committed to a high-quality investment environment. The TWSE has launched new financial products to promote information transparency and strengthen corporate governance in addition to welcoming TWSE-listed companies to participate in the “2015 STOCK MARKET EXPOSITION”. This is to be held at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 3 on December 19 to 20 and is hosted by TWSE. This Exposition gives companies a chance to connect face-to-face with investors.

The TWSE has offered its support to NIRI for this event for two years. The TWSE will continue to advance the importance of IR and remain diligent in its efforts to have enterprises enhance corporate governance and corporate social responsibility, which are indeed the concerns of investors.
