Publish time:2014-09-26

Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) announced that it has launched the official website for the “Corporate Governance Center” on September 25 to help investors and companies gain insight into the effectiveness of the center and other competent authorities in implementing measures, recent domestic and foreign developments, and other information related to corporate governance.  Visitors may find a link to the site on the official TWSE website (www.twse.com.tw).

The content of this site includes an introduction to corporate governance and corporate social responsibility (CSR), corporate governance regulations and guidelines, codes of practice for corporate governance in various industries, information regarding evaluations, the latest news on promotional and advocacy activities, and a statistical database. Consolidating all information related to domestic corporate governance, the website serves as an important research platform for corporate governance and CSR.

Exhibiting distinctive and lively colors, the design of the corporate governance center website uses images to embody the concept of corporate governance, and convey the purpose of the corporate governance center, the Corporate Governance Roadmap, corporate governance, and CSR.  This allows users to gain an understanding into the direction for corporate governance policies implemented by the competent authorities. The website’s practical and user-friendly design allows users to navigate and read its content with ease, while providing the outside world with a refreshing take on corporate governance.

TWSE added that visitors may access information related to the corporate governance center, peripheral units, and related activities of non-governmental organizations on the homepage of the website, enabling users to gain quick updates on the latest news. The database compiles information on cases of violations ruled on by the competent authorities, irregular trading information, independent directors and functional committees, CSR reports of listed companies, electronic voting, and other such statistical data. The website also synchronizes information in English to facilitate domestic and foreign investors from various sectors in making queries, helping them obtain corporate governance information for reference in investments. Furthermore, it promotes the importance of corporate governance and CSR across the operations of a company, which in turn creates a healthy environment for competition and strengthens the transparency of Taiwan's corporate governance.  As a result, the level of recognition amongst international investors for the development of Taiwan’s corporate governance is elevated.
