The Taiwan Stock Exchange (the “TWSE”) and Taipei Exchange (the “TPEx”) will jointly hold three meeting sessions to promote the Sustainable Development Roadmap on July 7, July 13, and July 20, respectively.

Directed by the Financial Supervisory Commission (the “FSC”), the event is meant to support listed enterprises in setting carbon-abatement targets. This is to cope with climate-change impact and increasing concern for carbon-abatement issues worldwide. As a result, the government has unveiled the “2050 Net Zero Carbon Emission Roadmap and the European Union is going to launch a carbon border adjustment mechanism.

In the meeting, the TWSE will acquaint listed enterprises with the Sustainable Development Roadmap, urging their boards of directors to set targets, timelines and strategies for management to attain those goals.

During the meeting, experts will explain net zero emission strategy and representatives of enterprises with remarkable carbon-abatement performance will share their vision and execution plan with attendees, so that the boards of directors of listed enterprises can understand the urgency of climate-change issue and adopt  appropriate measures, induce their suppliers to follow suit, and attain the nation's objective in this regard.
