The Mechanism of Trading Halt during Information Assessment Period will be implemented from January 15, 2016

Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) indicated that considering the fact that the Mechanism of Trading Halt during Information Assessment Period gives the material information that occurred or was announced during trading hours sufficient time to be made public extensively, and provides investors with digestion time for information to reduce circumstances of information asymmetry, TWSE announced on July 13, 2015 the amendment of “Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation Procedures for Verification and Disclosure of Material Information of Companies with Listed Securities” through adopting by reference of regulations in the main foreign exchanges, added the specific Chapter Four “Halt and Resume Trading,” and amended the relevant Article in concert with the Mechanism of Trading Halt during Information Assessment Period.
TWSE indicated that for the benefit of investors to have sufficient time to go through the material information before the beginning of trading hours, Article 6, paragraph 1, subparagraph 1 & 2 of “Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation Procedures for Verification and Disclosure of Material Information of Companies with Listed Securities” was amended from the opening of trading hours on the next business day (at 9:00 A.M.) to one hour before the opening of trading hours on the next business day (at 8:00 A.M.) for the time before which the material information shall be input.
Financial Supervisory Commission has approved amendments of the relevant Article for future reference. However, in coordination with the system adjustment and advocacy arrangement, this mechanism will be implemented from January 15, 2016.
